Anchor turned actress Ekta Jain is all set to play the role of a police inspector in her upcoming film Shatranj. The film is produced by produced by Anand Prakash, Mrinalini Singh and Fahim Rustam Qureshi of Anand Motion Pictures ,Origin Film Lab and Dushyant Corporation and directed by Dushyant Pratap Singh .He offered a role to the talented and pretty Ekta Jain. She said, “I had met Dushyant sir on the sets of a film and he liked my work. He has seen my previous work as an anchor on TV shows, (Saas Bahu or Betiyaan) TV soaps, films and many other projects.”
She also adds, “I am playing a very challenging role. For the first time I will get to essay the role of a police inspector. While I am playing a police woman, the role’s characteristics are similar to my real life qualities. I am quite similar – full of life and energy. The film is full of twists and turns and it revolves around the idea how people are used like ‘mohras’ in the game of life. I am happy that I get to work with a talented director like Dushyant Singh.”
Ekta has acted in more than twenty-five serials such as Ek thee Rajkumari, Shakalaka Boom Boom, Jai Ganga Maiya, Gayatri Mahima, Apun to Bas Vaise He, and many more. In many films, she got noticed as a supporting actress. She has acted in films like Nayak:The Super Hero, Anjane The Unknown and many more . Ekta was last seen working for the film Khalli Balli (a comedy horror movie) acting along with the Bollywood star Dharmendra,Madhoo .
Ekta has done many multilingual plays and theatres. She is very versatile in speaking different dialects. Some of her plays are Baby sitter, Military Camp, Atithi, Meena No Manvado, and many more. Ekta is a talented individual who has participated in fashion shows . She has walked for Kutch World Beauty Contest, Miss Borivali Contest, Miss Malad Contest. She also got acknowledged with the titles of Best Catwalk and Miss Best Smile.
Ekta has also anchored the show for Laughing Colours. She has dubbed serials like Maa Shakti, Shaktimaan Durga, Vishnu Puran, and many others. Her ability to switch to languages has made her very popular. She has also anchored the show Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan for Aajtak .
