The promotional press conference of the Kannada film Koragajja, scheduled to be held on January 24 at the Grand Ballroom, Holiday Inn, Kochi, reportedly faced difficulties due to a last-minute scheduling overlap with another film press event in the city.

According to the Koragajja team, invitations for their press meet were sent to Kochi-based media outlets nearly a week in advance. Renowned international actor Kabir Bedi and senior actress Bhavya had travelled to Kochi specifically to attend the interaction with the media.

However, the team stated that on the eve of the event, they were informed of another press conference for a Malayalam film starring Mammootty being scheduled at the same time. Given Kochi’s limited number of entertainment journalists, the overlap reportedly led to concerns about media availability, following which the Koragajja press meet had to be rescheduled.

Director Sudheer Attavar and producer Trivikram Sapalya expressed disappointment over the situation, noting that significant preparations had already been made for the event. They said that while scheduling conflicts can occur, better coordination among PR teams could help avoid such situations, especially in cities where media resources are limited.

The producers also highlighted that Koragajja involves the contribution of several Malayalam technicians and singers, and that the team had received positive media support in other cities across the country.

Kabir Bedi, who was present in Kochi for the promotion, shared that he holds Malayalam cinema in high regard and felt the situation was unfortunate. He remarked that while such overlaps may not always be intentional, greater communication among industry stakeholders would help maintain mutual respect and smooth promotional activities.

Senior actress Bhavya also expressed her disappointment, emphasizing the importance of honoring commitments made to artists and media alike.

Producer Trivikram Sapalya stated that the team had successfully conducted promotional events in multiple cities, including Mangalore, where the response from the media was encouraging. He added that the rescheduling of the Kochi event affected the film’s promotional momentum.

The Koragajja team reiterated that they hold Malayalam cinema and its senior artists in high esteem and hope that better coordination will prevail in the future to avoid similar situations.
