Anup Jalota, Udit Narayan, Babul Supriyo, and several other acclaimed singers were recently bestowed with the esteemed Dr. K.J. Yesudas Achievement Award, recognizing their remarkable accomplishments in the field of music. This prestigious award ceremony was organized by Gopakumar Pillai of People’s Arts Center at the ISKCON Auditorium in Mumbai.

The Dr. K.J. Yesudas Achievement Award celebrates the exceptional contributions of seven prominent playback singers, including Hemlata, Udit Narayan, Suresh Wadkar, Anup Jalota, Shabbir Kumar, Shailendra Singh, and Babul Supriyo. These legendary singers have left an indelible mark on the music industry with their soulful renditions and melodious voices.

Known for his iconic Hindi songs like “Gori Tera Gaon Bada Pyara” (Chitchor, 1976), “Surmayee Ankhiyon Mein” (Sadma, 1983), and “Dil Ke Tukde Tukde Karke” (Dada, 1979), Udit Narayan captivated the audience with his memorable performances.

Dr. K.J. Yesudas, renowned for his emotive renditions, has been honored with numerous accolades, including the Padma Vibhushan and the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
