Ayodhya’s Rasik Peethadhishwar Mahant Janmejay Sharan and Namo Namo Sangathan President Arun Kumar Sharma inaugurated the eco-friendly paper Ganpati idol “Boomerang Ka Raja” at Chandivali, Andheri East.
The 26.1-feet-tall eco-friendly Ganesh idol has set a world record, elevating the Ganpati festival in Andheri East to new heights. Officially certified by the World Book of Records, this idol at the Boomerang Ke Raja pandal is recognized as the world’s tallest eco-friendly Ganpati idol.
Standing at 26.1 feet and weighing 300 kilograms, the idol was crafted using 3.5 lakh sheets of paper, 22 kilograms of glue, and 45 kilograms of metal. The entire structure is fully recyclable. The idol was designed by Rajesh Digambar Mayekar, who has been renowned for creating eco-friendly Ganpati idols since 2007.
Bollywood actress Ekta Jain welcomed Ganpati Bappa with drum beats at the event.
Arun Kumar Sharma, who has been organizing Ganpati festivals for the past 10 years, initiated the creation of eco-friendly Ganpati idols during the COVID-19 pandemic. He remarked, “It’s not just about the size, but about setting an example for a greener future.”
This eco-friendly Ganpati has successfully raised awareness about environmentally-conscious festivals in Mumbai.
